I plan on getting more blankets made. Mrs. Sutton can help me by maybe finding me a new place to donate them to.

How did you work over the last two weeks to address the five step plan you laid out in Blog Post #6? If you haven’t made progress, explain why. Be accountable. Explain how you will make the progress you need to make.
Describe the author's interpretation of Genius and how it differs from conventional definitions of Genius.
-He says that being genius is more than being smart. Genius in his eyes is beyond creativity and way more than just being smart, or how high someone's IQ is. He also says that just because someone's IQ is high, it does not qualify them as being genius. The author believes that geniuses know "how" to think, rather than "what" to think. What are the shared strategies of geniuses? - They look at problems in many different ways, make their thoughts visible, produce, make novel combinations, force relationships, think in opposites, think metaphorically, and prepare themselves for chance, How does your Genius Hour project encourage you to use some of these strategies? It really makes you think outside the box about something you can do to help your community. WHAT IS YOUR 5 STEP PLAN TO MEET YOUR GENIUS HOUR GOAL BY MAY 6TH?
I am going to start by getting my jeep out, which is a manual. I plan on explaining and making a video on how to drive stick. I am hoping for my audience to be a driver's ed group. Which aspect of your Genius Hour Project do you enjoy most?
I really enjoy that I have the opportunity to meet new people and get out into the community! Which aspect do you enjoy least? Making blankets can be very time consuming. AFTER WATCHING KEN ROBINSON'S TED TALK ABOUT EDUCATION, EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW HIS VIEWS DO/DO NOT RELATE TO THE CONCEPT OF GENIUS HOUR. WHAT ABOUT KEN ROBINSON'S VIEW DO YOU AGREE/DISAGREE WITH?
The main points he talked about were curiosity and creativity. Those two ideas both incorporate into Genius Hour because when you do Genius Hour, you are thinking of something to do. In order to do that you must have creativity and be curious to learn more and engage yourself in what you chose to do. I agree with with him for the most part, he makes a good argument that school should not be all about test taking. I don't necessarily agree that tests are the whole reason why so many teens drop out, maybe it has to do with that, but not completely. NOW THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN PART IN GENIUS HOUR FOR A MARKING PERIOD, HOW CAN YOU RELATE TO THE INFORMATION IN THE ARTICLE? DO YOU AGREE /DISAGREE WITH THE ARTICLE? DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING NEW TO ADD TO THE DISCUSSION? I agree with the article. Personally I think it's good to really take risks and push yourself. Plus it's fun it's something you are passionate about. Personally I can relate to it because for me it's tough to do something you really don't want to do or that you're really not interested in. Although I think it is kind of difficult to keep on a project that has no guidelines or structure. NOW THAT YOUR GENIUS HOUR PROJECT IS UNDERWAY, WHAT DO YOU PREDICT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST OBSTACLE? HOW DO YOU INTENT TO OVERCOME THAT OBSTACLE?
I feel like one of my biggest obstacles during this project will be how to manage my time. One of my bigger priorities will be to find a day that works best where I have little homework and free time away from volleyball. I need to go to the store and buy materials such as fabric for the lap blankets. My goals is to make one to three blankets a night depending on how much time I have. How I intend to overcome this obstacle is to just in general try to manage my time wisely! I need to speak with Mrs. Sutton about finding a nursing home to visit also. Another obstacle I am going to try to overcome is looking at how to pay for all the material. I'm going to help out around the house and earn money to do so! Describe what your genius hour project would look like if you could make it the very best it could be.For my genius hour project I wanted to make lap tie blankets for residents at a local nursing home. My goal is to make at least twenty-five or more blankets and to maybe sit down and actually get to know some of the people! I was hoping to get together with Mrs. Francis and talk to her about helping me contact a nursing home.
